Weston Wear
Julienne Weston, the founder of Weston Wear, began her sewing career on her mother's portable Singer sewing maching. When she was in second grade, she sewed her first dress for a dance recital. Julienne continued her interest in fashion at the University of California, where she discovered the versatility of cotton lycra material which she felt would be the “fabric of the future”. Julienne used that material to design dance costumes but soon realized that there was a wider market for women’s fashions. In 1980 Julienne began marketing her creations at “Weston Wear" parties. After five years, she was able to expand to selling in stores. Her designs regularly appear on TV and Film. Despite her growth and success, Weston says that she would like her label to remain a small company because it allows her great creative freedom. Julienne firmly believes in the motto “Stylish yet Comfortable”. Each season Weston Wear features a group of new prints that are available in different styles that can be combined to create a multitude looks.
